Graffoe Limousin Stud in the Upper South East of South Australia has 18 years experience running a commercial purebred Limousin herd, and using Limousin bulls as terminal sires over British-breed cows to see how they perform.

Our females, both pure and crossbred, are most impressive, producing heavy MSA grading vealers for local butchers and Limousin-loving Hardwicks for their top Melbourne restaurant trade.

We can highly recommend using Limousin bulls as terminal sires and females as commercial breeders with complete confidence. Our Limousin/Angus and Angus/Limousin crossbred females are particularly sought after as breeders.

Our stud's recent highlights include a 1st prize and two 3rd prizes in the 2008 Southern Grassfed Carcase Classic ... more

Foundation females with superior genetics have been obtained from some of the best herds in Australia. Daughters of such great cows as White Lakes Exotic, White Lakes Goldie and Premier Cauliflower were acquired. We now have a fast growing herd of over 50 registered cows and heifers.

Crossbreeding with Limousin has the advantage of increasing vealer weights through hybrid vigour, which also improves feed conversion efficiency, dressing percentage (typically 58-63%), retail yield (up to 75%), and eating quality by refining texture and tenderness.

We invite you to visit our other pages to judge the quality of our seedstock and commercial cattle. Apart from the AI Sires page, all photographs are of our own stock.

We will be holding a field day on Monday 9th February 2009, when you can see some of our cattle.
